Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit called to Double Homicide

The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit have been called to assist the Oak Bay Police Department with a double homicide, which occurred on Beach ‎Drive in Oak Bay on Christmas Day.

Today, December 26th, 2017, investigators are executing a search warrant on the residence where the bodies of two small children, aged 4 and 6 were found. Investigators are expected to be at the scene for the remainder of the week.

One male has been transported to hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.‎ Police at this time are not seeking further suspects.

This is a devastating incident and we cannot begin to express our sympathy to all those touched by this tragedy, states Cpl. Shane Rappel of the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit.

There is no further information to be released. We would like to extend on behalf of the family, their wishes for privacy at this very difficult time.
