Courtenay Resident Injured in Shooting

On December 12th, at approximately 4:20 pm, the Comox Valley RCMP responded to a report of a shooting on the 900 block of Salsbury Road, in Courtenay.

Once on the scene, the Comox Valley RCMP located a 57 year old Courtenay resident, with a gunshot wound. The male was transported to a local hospital by the Provincial Ambulance Service, with non-life threatening injuries.

There has been no arrests for this shooting at this time. The investigation is ongoing and it appears this was a targeted shooting. The Comox Valley RCMP Major Crimes Section is heading the investigation with the assistance of the Police Dog Service and the Integrated Forensic Identification Section.
