RCMP treating death as suspicious in nature

RCMP are currently on scene and continue to investigate after the discovery of a deceased individual was made Wednesday morning in Kelowna.

On October 11, 2017 shortly before 11 am, the Kelowna RCMP were called to an orchard in the 2100 block of Cooper Road for a report of a body found at that location.

The Kelowna RCMP have secured the scene and continue their investigation at this time.

RCMP are awaiting the arrival of the BC Coroner’s Service and have not yet confirmed a gender or an age of the deceased person.

Police are treating the individual’s death as suspicious at this time, says Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey. Our investigation is in its early stages and updated information will be provide as it becomes available.
